Fly Tying Video - John Collins Ties JC'S IsoFor this weeks fly Tying Video John Collins brings you another original pattern. J. C.'S Iso PT is a fantastic pattern that has put more than a few PA Trout in my net this year. I have to tell you, This one out fished all of the other Slate Drake Nymphs in my box, hands down. As the name states, this is a variation of a Pheasant Tail nymph that imitates an Isonychia Nymph. These nymphs are an important food source for Trout on the East Coast. They are active late spring all the way through the summer. Isonychia Nymphs are super fast swimmers so do not be afraid to let these puppies swing, or let them rise up at the end of your drift. Many days a little action on these bad boys is the key to getting the fish to slam your fly. Twist up a dozen a keep them in your box; you will be glad you did.
